Penile Torsion - Surgery and Traction

Penile Torsion is a rare and serious condition that causes the penis to become "wound". This affects the ability to become erect (normally prohibiting it) and can be painful to urinate. If penile torsion is from birth and not corrected, length and girth of the penis is normally stunted considerably. In recent studies, surgeons have attempted to cut the skin from the penis to "un-wind" it. However these surgeries have only been successful in around 30% of patients.

Traction devices are being used in studies to correct penis torsion, however no results have been released for these trials. However surgeons and urologists are optimistic that they can help straighten the penis.
